Prof. (Dr.) Man Singh, a distinguished chemist and academic leader, has made profound contributions to Indian higher education and scientific research. From earning his Ph.D. in Thermodynamics at the University of Delhi to shaping young minds at Deshbandhu College, his journey reflects a commitment to excellence and innovation. As Professor and Dean at the Central University of Gujarat (CUG), he established the Common Instrumental Facility and, as Vice Chancellor in charge, championed interdisciplinary collaboration, global partnerships, and inclusive education, transforming CUG into a hub of research and academic distinction.

 

His scientific legacy includes pioneering work in friccohesity chemistry, the invention of the Survismeter, and the formulation of the Man Singh Equation. With over 230 publications and mentorship of more than 100 postgraduate scholars, his influence spans generations. His patents across multiple countries and successful technology transfer to industry underscore his belief in research with real-world impact. A respected speaker and advocate for equity in education, Prof. Singh’s leadership blends intellectual rigor with social responsibility.
